Vincent Valentine is a fictional character first appearing in the 1997 video game Final Fantasy VII.
He is an optional playable character, a mysterious man found sleeping in a coffin within the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim. He initially appears aloof and burdened by a dark past, choosing to remain hidden rather than engaging with the world.
Vincent's past is deeply intertwined with Shinra Electric Power Company and its experiments. He was formerly a Turk, tasked with protecting the scientist Lucrecia Crescent, with whom he fell in love. Tragedy struck when Lucrecia chose to use herself in Professor Hojo's experiments, leading to the creation of Sephiroth.
As a result of his actions and choices he was subjected to experiments by Hojo, transforming him into a being with regenerative abilities and the capacity to transform into monstrous forms. He wields a triple-barreled handgun called Cerberus, and his ultimate limit break transforms him into various powerful creatures.
